Joseph has practised as a solicitor in commercial, property and probate law for over 30 years. In 1993 he had the distinction of being appointed a Notary Public and serves as a member of the Council of the Society of Notaries Victoria.

He acts as an advisor and strategist for a number of companies and is the honorary Chairman of Picchi Brothers Foundation Inc., which is devoted to medical research into the causes and treatment of cancer and asthma. He was a Camcare Board member for 12 years and Board Chairman for two years.

Joseph is an active naval reserve officer holding the rank of Captain in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve. Outside the law his interests include bike riding, skiing and growing olive trees. He is married to Julie and has four children.

After working as a secondary school teacher and later raising her family Julie has worked with Lukaitis Partners since 1989.

Julie now works as a law clerk specialising in conveyancing and mortgage work. Julie conducts her own files liaising effectively with clients, solicitors, banks and real estate agents to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

Michelle CupplesMichelle Cupples undertook her Articles with Joseph Lukaitis in 2005. She graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University. Michelle was admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor in Victoria in February 2007.

Michelle has gained valuable experience in a wide variety of legal areas, particularly in general commercial, property and civil and commercial litigation. Michelle practises predominantly in these areas and has particular experience in the sale and purchase of businesses, retail and commecial leasing, trade marks, franchising, commercial agreements, subdivisions, employment law and information technology law.

Andrew Zilinskas
B.A., LL.B (Mon.), LL.M. (Mon.)Andrew has been practising since 1986 predominantly in civil and commercial litigation, general commercial work, intellectual property, administration of deceased estates (including international genealogical searching), wills and powers of attorney. Andrew built his knowledge and developed his skills in dispute resolution by working as a Judge’s associate and for 3 years as a barrister. During this time he appeared in all the Victorian and federal courts and many Tribunals and Boards.

For his Master of Laws degree, Andrew studied commercial dispute resolution and intellectual property. He is a published author on mediation. Andrew also has expertise in international genealogical searching, has an extensive network of international agents and regularly travels to Europe to keep up-to-date with legal developments in other countries.

Andrew has strong links with and is a prominent member of the Lithuanian Community in Australia. In 1992 he was a member of the International Organising Committee for the First World Lithuanian Lawyers Congress in Lithuania and served as President of the Federal Executive of the Australian Lithuanian Community from 1995 to 1996. He is a member of the Australian Baltic Chamber of Commerce and speaks Lithuanian fluently.

In 1997 Andrew was appointed by the Foreign Affairs Minister of Lithuania to be Lithuania’s Honorary Consul for Victoria and Tasmania and in 2004 he was appointed Lithuania’s Honorary Consul-General.
